feling your pain
by: Phillip Davis

I just performed the funeral of a still born baby. The parents are faithful memebrs and a great couple. The wife went 8 months before the baby was strangled by the embilocal cord and the mother had to deliver the baby. My wife and I were there when the child was born. I found that in performing the funeral the only words that were appropriate was the Word of God. Scriptures that spoke of God's care for the pure in heart, and his presence in times of trouble. The star manual for ministers has scripture readings to help. I did not preach at the funeral I only read the scriptures and ministered to the family briefly. Most of my ministering was done in private through being present. Hope it helps.

Funeral Resource

Call a United Methodist pastor and ask to borrow the United Methodist Book of Worship. There is a really good resource in there for burial of a young child. My prayers are with you.
