It is the deepest heartache a parent will ever go through loosing a child. The comfort is in knowing that babies go straight to heaven. I often wonder if all these little ones are surrounding the Lord's throne dancing, playing, and delighting our Lord everyday. Jesus always loved the little children, and he never let them be pushed aside. He said let the little children come. Although, parents are grieving they need to know that their baby is not dead, but "very" much alive!

feling your pain

I just performed the funeral of a still born baby. The parents are faithful memebrs and a great couple. The wife went 8 months before the baby was strangled by the embilocal cord and the mother had to deliver the baby. My wife and I were there when the child was born. I found that in performing the funeral the only words that were appropriate was the Word of God. Scriptures that spoke of God's care for the pure in heart, and his presence in times of trouble. The star manual for ministers has scripture readings to help. I did not preach at the funeral I only read the scriptures and ministered to the family briefly. Most of my ministering was done in private through being present. Hope it helps.

Funeral Resource

Call a United Methodist pastor and ask to borrow the United Methodist Book of Worship. There is a really good resource in there for burial of a young child. My prayers are with you.
