I don't know how to resign

by Bob
(USA)

My Wife and planted a church from ground up about 13 years ago. About two years ago another church in our city (who were without a pastor) merged with us. We moved into their facility and assumed their debt. It went well for the first year or so, but in the last year we have lost a lot of people and the church building is in foreclosure. We felt the merger was a God thing but now have out doubts. Both congregations were small and we have been Bi-Vocational. If we leave the church will close as there is no one to succeed us. My concern is for the new souls that have been saved in the last year

I don't know how to resign
by: E LEVESQUE

Dear Pastor,

I am sorry you assumed this debt and it sunk you. This is unfortunate but the sooner you face this meeting the better. Just get it over with as soon as possible. Own up to your mistakes in the meeting. Get help. Tell the true nature of the situation. These situations are more like ripping off a band aid. They take incredible courage and resolve. Call for the meeting. Have resignation in hand. Pray. If some other situation arises be discerning. I have resigned from several pastorates. Sometimes you are between a rock and a hard place with no recourse but to resign and move on. I have done this several times. It is painful. It hurts. The sooner you get it over with the better. Put your bravest face on. Courage! You have my prayers. You will learn from this later. Right now it stings. Sorry. Blessings+
