Part time pastor - am I really called for this?

My wife and I have been leading a very successful children's ministry for the last 5 years. The ministry has grown to almost 1000 children that attend weekly.

When we started we had 2 children. Our family has since grown to 6. We are not employed by the church. I have my own business witch is really struggling at the moment.

I am really under immense pressure financially and time wise to juggle all my responsibilities. Our pastor is a great leader and driven to see The Kingdom expand.

Is it ok to quit? I feel I should focus on our family and my struggling business, but I don't want to be outside God's will.

1000 strong children's ministry

I don't know how long ago you posted but 1000 kids in a ministry! And no salary? That's not only incredible but bigger than most churches (I worked in a church of 200 with two other pastors on staff, and you've got 1,000 sheep, no help and no pay?) Wow....somebody is not respecting your time. I would pass it on or get help, lots of it, before you go under - with your family.

Brother, your family is your first ministry. If you cannot provide for them physically, mentally and spiritually because of your part-time or unpaid position in ministry you're out of God's will. Family before ministry as long as it isn't unhealthy.
