Pastor Salary
Creating a Better Future

Ones Pastor salary plays a major role in ministry burnout. I know this from experience.

My salary was gone. I was forced out of ministry when my pastor burnout became so severe that I tried to take my own life. My simple question was, "Now what?"

Pastoral ministry was out of the question for me, at least until I fully healed. But I still wanted to be involved in ministry of some type. I considered many things, but every one put too much pressure on me while I was healing.

I wanted an income as secure as a pastor salary. I decided I needed a ministry that I could work on when I was able, but walk away from when I was under stress. It needed to provide an income that at least augmented other sources of income.

But what ministry is like that? My initial conclusion was that writing would fit my gifts and provide an income. But how would I write? How would I replace my pastor salary with the written word? Writing for publication is very difficult and time-consuming, not to mention the fact that the vast majority of manuscripts get rejected and that the income is very small.

I decided that writing for an internet audience could bring some income. So I started a blog and started to write. But no one ever visited so my Google ads never got clicked – meaning, I made no money.

I decided to create my own web site, one that draws traffic from the search engines like Google and Bing. I tried a web site using a free service. I put up a lot of things, but again, no one visited, so I made no money.

So I did research on how to draw visitors from the search engines. What I discovered was so obvious that I should have thought of it myself.

You draw visitors to your site from the search engines by writing content that people are searching the internet for. It’s so obvious after I read about it.

What I read was revolutionary to me. It was a simple concept and provided a clear direction for my new ministry: writing Christian content that Christians search the internet for. That’s how I would gain a type of pastor salary.

I devoured every word of this free ebook: Click here to read the ebook (a PDF file) in your browser, or right-click to download it. It gave me a confidence that I hadn’t had since the first days of my pastoral ministry when my pastor salary was $275 a week.

Now I knew what to do. But that just raised another question: how? The ebook included links to the answer for how. The one that sticks out to me is this .

Now after developing my own site and working diligently I am earning on average $1,000 each month. I can’t quit my day job yet. But the web site does provide an excellent way to augment my other sources of income. And some day, I will be able to walk away from my day job.

Can I ask you a few questions?

  • Do you enjoy writing?
  • Do you have a passion for a subject – hobby, medical, technical, manufacturing, sermon illustrations, education, books, etc?
  • Are you strongly motivated to press forward when things get difficult?
  • Do you have a basic understanding of the internet?

If you answered, yes, to those questions, then you can do this job and increase your pastor salary. It’s a simple process. It just takes a passion for a subject and motivation to put it on the web and knowledge of how to draw visitors.

That brings me back to the ebook I mentioned earlier (Click here to read the ebook (a PDF file) in your browser, or right-click to download it.). This book explains everything you need to know about the process. But what do I use to do all of this?

Or if you want, we’ve already seen the What, the How, and now the Means (great preaching points!).

I use an online program called Site Build It. I am not a technical person. I don’t know HTML – the language of the internet. I don’t really understand the technical things under the hood of email let alone the development of a web site. So I need a program and host that offers both the technical for the techies and a help for people like me. Site Build It offers both.

I tried other web designing tools. They start out cheap, but by the time they up-sell you with add-ons, it gets very expensive. And they don’t draw any traffic. I’ve tried and they don’t work.

Solo Build It works and gives you everything you need to build a web and use a web site - and gives you many things that no other web designing or hosting company provides. Not so sure? Want some proof ?

But I think that my success is pretty good proof that Solo Build It works. I earn an average of $1,000 each month. That to me proves that it is the right tool for me and for many other people. I believe it will increase your pastor salary. Try it for a month. If you don’t like it get your money back. Pay month to month or annually. It’s your choice. Compared to other products, it’s incredibly cheap.

In conclusion (very pastoral), if you haven’t already, let me encourage you to download the best ebusiness introduction available: Click here to read the ebook (a PDF file) in your browser, or right-click to download it.
