Promotion or Disaster

I need advice. My Pastor is retiring, the church elders has prayed for a long time for his replacement.

To my surprise, his replacement is a woman who has caused much strife, through her envy and jealousy of others in the church. To the point that I can't respect her as Pastor. As a sister in Christ yes,,,but I believe that she has exemplified too many characteristics of the flesh instead of the Spirit.

Why her? Quite frankly she has an abundance of time. Married, but always in church,,,she never misses anything..

SO Here is my Problem....the outgoing Pastor has asked me to take over as Youth Pastor....sounds good,,,would have been great if he was still going to be the Leader, but now he's not. I'm praying,,,but I'm not sure if it's God's will for me to be youth Pastor. I would need to respect, honor, and spiritually look up to the new Pastor. After all that I have seen,,I don't think I can.

Any thoughts?

My brother, I understand how you fell...I was once exposed to a pastor who shared some of the same qualities. What I had to do was continue to pray for her, pray against the spirits that were manifesting.

Your retiring pastor and his committee would have known the requirements for selection and I trust they would have allowed the Holy Spirit to direct.

Remember David was an adulterer and instigator for Uriah's death... Peter had a short temper... and don't forget the sons of Thunder (sure wouldn't want to be around them). Not only was Moses a stutterer but he was a murderer.

What I am saying is that God chooses and uses an available vessel not a perfect vessel. Pray that God will continue to work in her and through her.
In the meanwhile serve faithfully in your role as youth pastor... he will promote you in due season.
