Sex in Marriage

by Dennis

A gentleman from my church came in with a problem that his wife keeps denying him of sex (love making) for a period of 5 months or sometimes 7 months. He inquired from the wife who said she is out of mood for sex. I am a young pastor and I need help to counsel the couple.
The man has tried the following:
1. taking her out for diner, lunch etc
2. lavish gifts on her which she showed little interest
3. buying her gifts to surprise her

Thank you

She is wrong

I believe this is grounds for divorce for him before God. Not that he should choose that. God wants the marriage to succeed but if the efforts don't bear fruit I believe divorce would not be a sin.

Counseling Needed
by: Casey Sabella

There is more to the story than you are being told. Whether in her background or their relationship, I would suggest counseling with a licensed family therapist. There are many Christian therapists available and this also could create a great alliance between your church and the community.

God has the answer

You'd be surprised how often I've heard the same story. As a Pastor I believe we must look to the Holy Bible for direction to these types of problems and sure enough, it's there. The problem a lot of Christians is that they will often KNOW what the Bible says but refuse to DO it. If I were you, I'd simply sit them down for a heart to heart and explain these verses to them:

1Co 7:3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
1Co 7:4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
1Co 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
