The God Of Creation
by Terry Brunson
God's existence is challenged because He cannot be seen. Just because God can't be seen, doesn't mean that God doesn't exist. God's existence is like using scotch-tape. When you put it on something, you can't see it, but you know it's there holding things together!
We can't see God, but His existence is as sure as the air that we breath. You cannot see air, but you use it to stay alive.
Genesis 1:1 "In The beginning God. . ."
GOD IS SIMPLY PRESENTED - Genesis begins with the basic idea that God exists. There are no attempts to prove God's existence. God's existence is self-evident. God is being simply presented in Genesis as a straight forward reality. The Bible says, "Only A fool; says in his heart that there is no God." (Psalms 14:1)
Genesis was not written to argue God's existence; it was written to proclaim God's existence as a given fact. There is no finite being alive that can prove the existence of our infinite God. The record of God stands to proclaim that:
"God's ways are past finding out." (Romans 11:33)
"Canst thou by searching find out God's existence?" (Job 11:7)
"God's existence is beyond Human understanding" (Job 36:26)
Genesis 1:1 "In The beginning God Created . . ."
GOD IS SOVIEGNLY POWERFUL - God is the sovereign creator of this world. All that is - is His doing in creation! God is the maker and designer of the this world.
Things in this world did not just by themselves evolve. The law of thermodynamics shows us that if matter is left alone, it will decade away, not get better. Park a shiney new car in a spot and return 10 years leater. What condition would you exspect to find the car? Still shiney? No! It will be cancered in rust and dust! That is the law of thermodynamics.
If you see design in this world, there has to be a designer of this world. God Himself declares His sovereign act of creation in His Word:
"God Made The earth by His own power, and the heavens by the discretion of His onw understanding." See Jeremiah 10:12 and Jeremiah 51:15.
Genesis 1:1 "In The beginning God Created the Heaven and Earth . . ."
GOD IS SUPREMELY PURPOSEFUL - All things that God created has a supreme purpose. When the purpose of a thing created is not known, ABUSE of that thing is inevitable.
It is our task in life to tap into God's purpose of things. God created the earth for His pleasure (Revelation 4:11), for His people (Isaiah 45:18), for His Praise (Romans 11:36) and ultimately for His purpose!
We all fit somewhere in the purpose of God's creation. God created a purpose path for us to find when He created all things. Only through discovering His purpose for creating all things around us can we experience our own genuine purpose for being alive by His sustaining power.
We all fit somewhere in the purpose of God's creation. You and I were not created to simply exist. We were created to get in, where we fit into God's purpose.
GOD IS SAVINGLY PERSONAL - God is savingly personal in a way that few consider. God became close to His creation through the form of an anthropomorphic being known as Jesus Christ.
The Elohim-God of Genesis 1:1 is the God-man (Jesus) of John 1:1-3, 14.
Let me note a few verses that points to Jesus Christ as being one with God.
In John 10:30-33- Jesus said, "I and my Father are one."
When Jesus said these words, His enemies understood Him to be declaring Himself God. They heard Jesus say, "I and my Father are one." They knew exactly what these words meant. They wanted to stone Jesus for saying, "I and my Father are one." They said, "For a good work, we stone you not. But we desire to stone you because you being a man, make yourself God!"
Jesus used His own words to declare Himself God when He said: "I and my Father are one." And all of His enemies knew that!
In Acts 20:28 - it says, "God purchased the church with His own blood"
If God purchased the church with His own blood. The question remains, "When did God have blood?" It was when Jesus came to this world to die on the cross for our salvation.
A chief name given to Jesus Christ was IMMANUEL meaning "God with us". (Matthew 1:23) Jesus came among us wrapped in humanity hiding His divinity. God became a man to get savingly personal with mankind. Jesus is declared to be the expressed image of God in the flesh. (Hebrews 1:1-3)
1 John 5:20 says, "Jesus Christ is the true God"
Jesus Christ is over all GOD blessed forever. He was God, Who became a man, to save the souls of men. (Romans 9:5)
Appeal: I invite you to get into God's salvation plan. It is a plan where God became a man to save men. God commenced the plan, Jesus carried-out the plan, and you and I must count-on that plan to save our souls from the wrath and condemnation to come.
See John 3:36
Let us pray, "Holy Father, Holy Son, Holy Ghost - Bind this message to the heart's of all who have take it to heart. May it be the message that seals the deal as it was revealed to salvation's plan for man. In Jesus' name Amen!
